The Brief
With over 5 million players, BattleTabs is a multiplayer, cross-platform turn-based strategy game that has been featured on Apple App Store, Google Play, and Discord.
The game is built from the ground up with a focus on community and tournament play, and uses a webstack to power the backend and frontend so that it can be run on any platform - from browser extension, web, to portals and mobile.
This was a full production project from pre-production, design, development, to launch and post-launch support.
Today, BattleTabs is developed and maintained with an agentic workflow — AI agents handle much of the day-to-day engineering, design, and operations, allowing a single developer to run a live-service game that serves hundreds of thousands of players every month. It’s a working example of how an agent-native approach lets a tiny team operate at a scale that used to require a studio.
